For Papers
The 9th International Wildlife Ranching Symposium (IWRS) invites academics, scholars and researchers with broad and diverse research interests from around the world to meet and exchange the latest ideas and views.
The overall theme for the 9th IWRS is Wildlife – the Key to Prosperity for Rural Communities. Areas of interest include the following:
- IUCN: 2nd African Buffalo Symposium
- Hunting as a form of sustainable use
- Community support & conservancies
- Ensuring the future of rhinos
- Sustainable wildlife tourism
- Potential threats to the wildlife industry: population growth and climate change
- Sustainable use as a function of biodiversity development
- How government decisions influence rural communities
Submissions will be accepted under in the following categories:
- Sustainable use of wildlife
- IUCN: 2nd African Buffalo Symposium
- Wildlife Management
These three streams will be running parallel on Tuesday (13 September 2016) afternoon and the whole of Thursday (15 September 2016).
Oral Presentations
The time frame for oral presentations will be 30 minutes (20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for questions). Time limits will be strictly enforced.
Poster guidelines
- Poster size: ONLY PORTRAIT A0 = Width 841mm; Height 1 189 mm.
- Include your name, address, contact details, and if possible a small photo of yourself.
- A viewer should be able to read and understand the poster in less than two minutes.
