Dr Knight has extensive experience in large mammal ecology and ecophysiology, park development and animal re-introductions. He has also worked in a number of African countries.

Dr Michael Knight has a total of thirty six scientific papers, two books, seven popular articles, fourteen conference papers and twelve poster presentations published to date. He is a current member of the following groups: The Rhino Management Group of Southern Africa, IUCN Species Survival Commission, African Rhino Specialist Group, Antelope Specialist Group, Zoological Society of South Africa, South African Wildlife Management Association, American Society of Mammalogists, Rhino and Elephant Foundation and the Society for Conservation Biology.
